VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

  • Overview:

    • The 2006 Hummer H2 is a significantly different breed compared to the original H1 model. It is based on GM’s heavy-duty pickup trucks but has been highly modified for increased off-road capability.

    • Unlike the H1 Alpha, the H2 is narrower (5.3 inches) and offers a more comfortable ride with additional creature comforts.

    • The H2 SUV can accommodate up to six occupants (when equipped with the optional folding/removable third-row seat) or five occupants without the third-row seat.

    • It features a 6.0-liter V-8 engine that generates 325 horsepower and 365 pounds-feet of torque.

    • The H2 is available in two trims: Base and SUT (Sport Utility Truck).

  • Exterior:

    • Styling cues include giant tires and side latches on the hood, reminiscent of the H1 Alpha.

    • The ladder-type frame uses hydroformed components.

    • Underbody protection includes skid plates, a fuel-tank shield, chassis-bolted rocker panel protectors, and a protective shield for the optional onboard air compressor.

    • The 2006 Special Edition package features body-colored fender moldings, a unique rocker molding with an assist step, 17-inch aluminum wheels, and a lower-profile roof-mounted light bar.

    • The H2 has a 122.8-inch wheelbase (nearly 7 inches longer than the Tahoe’s) and a 69.4-inch track width.

    • High approach and departure angles allow for direct driving into and out of challenging terrain.

  • Interior:

    • Up to six occupants can fit inside the H2 SUV with the optional third-row seat.

    • The 60/40-split second-row seats fold down.

    • Front seats are eight-way power-adjustable with a memory feature for the driver.

    • Available features include a luxury interior and a Special Edition package.

    • General Motors’ standard OnStar communication system is included.

  • H2 SUT Variant:

    • The H2 SUT (Sport Utility Truck) debuted in 2005.

    • It features the passenger cabin of an SUV and a small pickup truck bed instead of a closed cargo area.

    • Considered a crossover model, the SUT combines versatility with off-road capability.
